Lucerne Regatta Association was founded by local rowing enthusiasts in 1903. Its aim was to run regular regattas. Up till 1932, these took place in front of the luxury hotels on the shore of Lake Lucerne. 1933 then saw the start of racing on the Rotsee. For the past 70 years, the Association and athletes from around the world have enjoyed the privilege of racing on a natural lake ideally suited for the purpose.
