As well as rowers, the Rotsee also attracts hikers, joggers, ornithologists, local families and many other fans. The lake is not only a natural delight, but also easy to reach from a large catchment area. City dwellers, in particular, hugely value its peace and beauty.

The water and shores provide habitats for numerous species of birds, as well as animals, insects and plants. Lucerne Regatta Association and all other interested parties are determined that the Rotsee Nature Reserve has a secure future.
