Directions to regatta venue

By Airplane
Lucerne is easily accessible from the international airports of Zurich and Geneva by train. Departures from Zurich airport are every 30 minutes as of 05:15 hrs. Departures from Geneva by direct train are every hour from 06:10 hrs. Upon arriving at Lucerne's main station (Hauptbahnhof), take bus No. 1 in the direction of “Maihof” and get off at the "Maihofmatte” bus stop. On foot from there, follow the signs down to the lake. When driving from Zurich airport, take Motorway A1 (Berne-Geneva) and exit at “Oftringen Wiggertal” which will lead you to Motorway A2 (Lucerne-Gotthard-Milano). Take the “Emmen Süd” exit and follow the “Rotsee” signs.

By Train
You can reach Lucerne's main station (Hauptbahnhof) from all directions by train. From there, take bus No. 1 in the direction of “Maihof” and get off at the “Maihofmatte” bus stop. On foot from there, follow the signs down to the lake.

By Car
When arriving from the North, take Motorway A2 (Basel-Milano), exit at “Emmen Süd” and follow the “Rotsee” signs. When arriving from the West, take Motorway A1 (Geneva-Berne-Zurich) and exit at the “Oftringen Wiggertal” which will lead you to Motorway A2 (Lucerne-Gotthard-Milano). Take the “Emmen Süd” exit and follow the “Rotsee” signs. When arriving from the East, take Motorway A1 (St. Gallen-Zurich-Berne-Geneva) and exit at the “Oftringen Wiggertal” which will lead you to Motorway A2 (Lucerne-Gotthard-Milano). Take the “Emmen Süd” exit and follow the “Rotsee” signs.

Training
The venue is open for training daily from Wednesday, 6 July 2011 from 07:00 hrs until 21:00 hrs. Training will not be allowed 30 minutes before the start of the first race of each day.

First Team Managers’ Meeting and Draw
Thursday, 7 July 2010; 17:00 hrs

The venue for the Team Manager Meeting will be in the new media room of the “Neue Luzerner Zeitung”, Maihofstrasse 76, 6002 Lucerne. This building is located on the main road above the Regatta office. A map will be distributed to Team Manager’s at the Regatta office.


Transport of boats

Each federation is responsible for the insurance of the boats. The OC shall not be held liable for theft or any kind of damage on the boats. All orders by the police and other types of security service must be strictly observed.


Weigh-in

Coxswains and lightweights have to weigh in according to FISA “Rules of Racing”. The weighing centre is open two hours before the start of the first race. The weigh-in scales are located in the permanent boathouse building.

Liability
Participants are responsible for acquiring insurance for equipment and persons. The OC shall not be held liable for any damage in the regatta area.

Reservations have to be made as early as possible, at the latest by the closing date of entries. Advance payment (50%) will be requested.

 

Low cost accommodation

We are able to offer a limited number of beds in low-cost bed & breakfast accommodation at the Youth hostel, close to the finish area (see attached application form). The accommodation will be allocated on a “first come, first served” basis.
Beds that have been ordered but have not been used will be charged. Advance payment can be requested.

Order and cleaning
The team manager or the team coach shall be responsible for keeping the accommodation in proper condition.
It is strictly forbidden to prepare meals or to change any electrical and/or sanitary installations.
All costs which result from damage or degradation have to be paid by the user. The OC will not be held liable.

Prices: In Swiss Francs, per day and per person

Payment
50% on reservation, 50% upon arrival

Validity of reservation
The registration becomes valid as soon as down payment is registered by the regatta office.

 

Meal arrangements at the venue

The Lucerne Regatta is pleased to offer your athletes lunch and dinner at the Rotsee for the special price of 15.00 CHF per meal (lunch or dinner). The meals are especially prepared for rowers and will be served in the Athletes Restaurant Tent in the boat area.

  • There will be two menus to choose from: one always includes pasta and salad.
  • For each meal half a litre of mineral water is included (free).
  • The coaches should order the meals in advance - see enclosed form.
  • This form should be sent together with the entries. The tickets will be available at the Regatta office (open from 8:00 to 20:00 hrs)
  • There is other food and drink available at reasonable prices.
  • Breakfast may be purchased separately and has to be paid for in cash (CHF 10.00).

If meals are not preordered before Monday, 28 June 2010, prices for meal tickets will increase to CHF 17.00

The room “Ruderstübli” in the main building will reserved and available for rowers as a rest area.
